I would say it depends on the extent of how materialistic a person is. If they car about every little thing to the point it rules their life then the answer is obviously no. On the other hand, going off what Parker said even if you are just eating to live, you have to value that food. The question is where is the balance between to materialistic and not materialistic enough?
